Roger Cliff is a Senior Fellow at the Atlantic Council. He has previously worked for the Office of the Secretary of Defense and conducted research for the RAND Corporation on China's foreign policy, military modernization efforts and defense industry. He received his PhD from Princeton University.
John C. H. Fei was formerly Chairman of the Board at the Chung Hua Institute of Economic Research in Taipei, Taiwan. Co-author of five books and more than 75 articles, Fei also served as consultant to organizations such as AID, NPA, UNDP and the National Science Council of Taiwan. A Ph.D. from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, he taught at Cornell University and Yale University.
Gustav Ranis is the Director of The Yale Center for International and Area Studies and Professor of International Economics at Yale University. Having served as consultant to such entities as The World Bank, ADB, AID, OECD, UNIDO, FAO, UNDP, and the Ford and Rockefeller Foundations, Ranis is on the advisory boards, of several third-world research institutions. He has written extensively on theoretical and policy-related issues of development.
Hagen writes and illustrates cover stories and travel features, as well as children's books.
Eric Heginbotham is a Senior Political Scientist at the RAND Corporation and specializes in East Asian political and security affairs. He was formerly a Senior Fellow of Asian Studies at the Council on Foreign Relations. He has published in Foreign Affairs, International Security, Current History, Military Review, and a number of edited volumes. He has also co-authored several RAND monographs and is the co-editor of China and the Developing World. He served as a Military Intelligence Officer in the U.S. Army Reserve for fourteen years, spent more than ten years in Asia and speaks and reads Chinese and Japanese. He received his PhD in Political Science from the MIT.
