Even the most experienced Internet users and teachers will find many gems within these pages. Berger starts by discussing the different roles school librarians will have to play in the 21st century. She then shows readers how the Internet can help them meet these challenges successfully. An introductory chapter for "newbies" provides some great URLs and tips. The section on evaluating Web sites is stellar. It contains rationales, checklists, and award sites. Berger offers five different strategies for integrating the Internet into the curriculum. Her annotated list of "Web Sites for Active Learning" is chock-full of excellent sites, all of which can be easily tied into the curriculum. A useful chapter covers creating a home page for the library, and the book ends with ideas for teaching the Internet to faculty and parents.
