This handy resource is “a compilation of library and information science graduate student inclusion and awareness assignments” from a course designed by one of the book’s editors. The 25 entries explore African American, Asian, Latino American, Native American, and cross-cultural projects. The typical entry is presented as a detailed lesson plan specifying age level, duration of library program, introduction and background, overall goal, relevance to the community, activities, preparation, cost and materials, and bibliography or webliography (or both). Old favorites such as Black History Month and El Día de los Muertos are included as well as such enticements as “East Asian Harvest Festivals,” “The Kite Club,” “Time for Cuba,” and “Quilt Recollections.” Though aimed at the school or public library, many of these activities could be adapted to the classroom or other settings. --Craig Bunch
