About the Author

Dr. Scott Isaksen is President of the Creative Problem Solving Group, and Senior Fellow of its Creativity Research Unit. A former professor and director of the Center for Studies in Creativity at Buffalo State College, he has published over 130 books, articles and chapters in books. He has provided consultation and training on leadership and creativity for over 200 organizations in 18 different countries around the world. Scott serves on the advisory board of the National Invention Center, and has served as a consulting editor for the Journal of Creative Behavior since 1983.

Dr. Treffinger is the President of the Center for Creative Learning, Inc. He is Professor Emeritus of Creative Studies in the Center for Studies in Creativity at Buffalo State College. Don has published more than 250 articles or chapters in a variety of academic journals, popular publications, books, and monographs. He has authored, co-authored, or edited The Handbook of Creative Learning (1982), Creative Problem Solving: The Basic Course (1985), Creative Thinking and Problem Solving in Gifted Education (1985), Bringing Out the Giftedness in Your Child (1992), Identifying and Recognizing Creativity: The Emergence of a Discipline (1993), Nurturing and Developing Creativity: The Emergence of a Discipline (1993), Creative Problem Solving: An Introduction (1994), and Creative Approaches to Problem Solving (1994).

Brian Dorval is the Vice President of Client Services at the Creative Problem Solving Group, Inc. (CPSB). He is responsible for managing the service line activities including the development and delivery of client focused work and the coordination of organizational licensing. He also manages the certified facilitator and trainer network.

Brian is also involved in research and development on the topics of creativity, Creative Problem Solving, and mental imagery. He has co-authored over 30 articles, chapters, and books including Creative Approaches to Problem Solving (2000), Creative Problem Solving: An Introduction (2000), and Toolbox for Creative Problem Solving: Basic Tools and Resources (1998). Since 1988, Brian has provided over 300 training programs, workshops, and presentations as well as facilitated working sessions for dozens of Fortune 500 companies and Times 1000 companies, and educational institutions in fifteen different countries.

He has earned a Master of Science Degree from Buffalo State College in Creativity and Innovation, received the John E. Hetherman Award for outstanding student/athlete achievement from Rhode Island College and the Director’s Award from the Center for Studies in Creativity (Buffalo State College) for service excellence.
