Debra Dier is the bestselling author of sixteen critically acclaimed romance novels and short stories. Her work has earned her a place in the Writer's Hall of Fame. Debra was born and raised in Niagara Falls, New York. Although she always knew she wanted to do something creative in life, well-meaning family members talked her into doing something in a much more practical light. She received a BS in Information Systems Management and headed down a career path that included writing computer code and designing computer systems. It wasn't exactly what she had in mind when she thought of a purely creative career. For some mystifying reason, she was put on a fast track in this career and became a manager of other programmers and analysts in a large corporation at a young age. It was then she decided to try her hand at writing something other than computer code. After her first novel, Surrender the Dream was published, she took the plunge into writing full time. She has never regretted that decision. Deb lives in the mid-west with her family, their two Irish Setters who often make appearances in her books, and two cats who keep asking for starring roles. Justin Trevelyan, the Duke of Marlow, also known as the Devil of Dartmoor, is astonished to learn he has inherited guardianship of the three Darracott sisters along with his title. Isabel Darracott wants nothing to do with the self proclaimed rogue, and her first meeting with the Duke does nothing to change her mind. However, the longer Justin is around the Darracotts the less he wants to follow his usual pattern of carousing. In time, Isabel begins to see that the Duke is actually an honorable man beneath his bravado, and realizes he is a man worth having. Devil's Honor is a quick-paced, fun-filled story full of vivid, strong-willed characters. Ms. Dier gives the reader their money's worth, and wrings the heart with her secondary characters. We are fortunate that a sequel is planned for the future. The only thing that bothered me about this story was Ms. Dier's use of titles. Her characters tended to refer to each other as Duke instead of Your Grace. This may be a nit-picky point of etiquette, but it startled me every time it was done. Other than this, Devil's Honor is a wonderful read with beautiful characterizations. Fabulous job, Ms. Dier!Ms. Dier's characterizations give Devil's Honor a romantic zing! Once again, Ms. Dier does not disappoint. Her heroes are simply dashing! Get out the drool buckets ladies, Ms. Dier's men will make you salivate! Roguish scamps, spunky women, and endearing secondary characters are trademark Debra Dier, and this book is full of them!Gloria Lower -- Copyright © 1998 Literary Times, Inc.
