This book sheds light on environmental and other issues, including global warming, that will deeply affect the future of the automobile and of all American industry. You can agree or disagree with the author's views on these issues, but you will certainly benefit from reading this book. -- Hon. John D. Dingell, member, U.S. House of Representatives
Well-written, well-documented, and fun to read. Johnston details the inevitable clash between man's desire for freedom of mobility and the government's ever-increasing tendency to want to regulate all aspects of motor vehicles. A great 'ride' and a must-read for all who cherish their right to buy and drive the car or truck of their choice. -- Diane Steed, president, Coalition for Vehicle Choice, and former administrator, U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration
