About the Author

The late John Campbell was an authority on naval weaponry and this book is the culmination of a lifetime's research. He was a regular contributor to the Warship journal and is the author of Jutland: An Analysis of the Fighting as well as works on Queen Elizabeth class battleships, First World War battlecruisers and he was a major contributor to the Conway's All The World's Fighting Ships series.
