Synopsis

The two volumes of Whitfield's Electrical craft principles have been substantially revised and updated for the mid 1990s, reflecting changes in practice and legislation (e.g. BS 7671/IEE Wiring Regulations) as well as in the City & Guilds courses they support. Volume 2 in particular has new material to accompany course changes. The volumes are presented in a new format, are highly illustrated and contain full problems and solutions. Inspection copies of the new edition are available to lecturers.

About the Author

John Whitfield spent 30 years as a lecturer at Norwich City College of Further and Higher Education, where he gained very wide experience in teaching electrical installation, electrical craft practice, electrical technician's courses and the Ordinary and Higher National Certificate and Diploma courses. He has also managed an electrical contracting company. His insight into the needs of students in technical education and his wide experience of teaching methods has enabled him to base this book on well proven techniques. John Whitfield is particularly interested in the relationship between the education and training of the modern technician. He has taken part in external examining for many years, and has held chief examinerships for four of the seven major technical examining bodies in the UK. He is Chartered Engineer, a member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology and of the Chartered Institution of Building Service Engineers, and author of a number of Wiring Regulations publications.
