Book Description Tom Stacy Publishing, London, 1973. Hardback. Condition: Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Near Fine. First Edition. A SMELL OF BROKEN GLASS Sean Treacy. Tom Stacy Books, London 1973 First edition ISBN 0854684573 148pp Illustrated hardback. This copy has a small book plate of a previous owner to the f.e.p. otherwise it is in FINE condition. The unclipped dustwrapper has some edge wear otherwise it is NEAR FINE. Sean Treacy was born in Galway, Ireland and was later a pilot in the army air corps. he came to England and after a spell of managing other pubs he became landlord of the Queen's Elm in the Fulham Road, London. It was frequented by the London literati in the 1960s, as Treacy's book tells. Laurie Lee was a regular and it was a tradition that he would play his fiddle or tin whistle on Christmas Day when the pub was open noon to 2pm. This memoir is a rollicking rumbunctious tale of comics, authors, boxers, jockies and brawls. Ref V7 Size: 148pp. Seller Inventory # 006563
