About the Author:
RAYMOND N. GUARENDI, PH.D., is a clinical psychologist and the father of ten children. He has been a regular guest on national TV and radio programs such as Oprah, Joan Rivers, The 700 Club and CBS This Morning. He offers parents practical help through a syndicated advice column and his national radio program, The Doctor Is In. “Dr. Ray” is the author of several books, including Discipline That Lasts a Lifetime (Servant). He, his wife, Randi, and their children live in northeast Ohio.

A Christian psychologist provides advice and an entertainingly read Q&A on parenting. Dr. Guarendi is a lively narrator with a pleasant voice. He places the responsibility for child rearing squarely on parents and then offers keen insights on how to handle various personalities and situations. While some listeners may disagree with his parenting goals, his advice is practical and more than useful regardless of one's spiritual orientation. His delivery and humorous yet serious approach allow him to hit hard with sound advice that parents may otherwise not want to hear.
