About the Author:
KENNETH NEWMAN (1924 –2006), renowned bird painter and ornithologist, contributed significantly to the growing interest in, and awareness of, birds in southern Africa. His numerous books have a million copies worldwide. He served as president of the South African Ornithological Society and of BirdLife South Africa, and was a recipient of the SAOS Gill Memorial Award and the Zoological Society's Stevenson-Hamilton Award.
