Richard L. Curwin, Ed.D., is a professional teacher, consultant, seminar leader, and author based in San Francisco. He received a B.A. in English and a doctorate in education at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. He has won several awards, including the 1995 Chief Crazy Horse Award for courage in reaching discouraged youth. He is the author of Rediscovering Hope: Our Greatest Teaching Strategy. Allen N. Mendler, Ph.D., is a school psychologist, teacher, educational consultant, and seminar leader based in Rochester, NY. He received his undergraduate degree in psychology and education from Queen s College, his master s degree in psychology from Alfred University, and his Ph.D. in psychology from Union Graduate School.
