Stoneboro, South Carolina was a bustling community at the turn of the twentieth century, with a railroad, a granite quarry, a post office, several grist mills, ginneries, and stores, and even a millinery shop. Over time the granite quarry failed, and Stoneboro faded into obscurity. This historical book records a history almost forgotten and relatively unknown to many, a step back in time. The author’s sources include genealogical and other historical material, and interviews with local residents. A well-researched book -- fascinating to read. A light bump to the rear lower corner binding, yet overall, Fine condition. (Other dealer listings of this book online may say Fine or New, but the books have been read. This book was never read.)
