Well-known authors Howley and Franks have added important new features to this second edition, including new chapters on measurement and evaluation, nutrition, and computer software; greater coverage of programme leadership, stress management, and cardiac medications; more case studies for analysis; 200 new figures; current references for health / fitness professionals; 1991 ACSM objectives for Health / Fitness Instructor and Exercise Leader certification; and a new format that lists objectives and defines key terms at the beginning of each chapter and includes more examples of calculations and problems. Professionals such as ACSM, AFAA, and ACE instructors should find all the information they need in the "Health Fitness Instructor's Handbook".
