His research on children's perceptual-motor functioning and catching skills, more than a decade of teaching games progressions in undergraduate courses, professional publications, and experience in conducting in-service teacher workshops enabled him to create the developmental approach he applies to the games in this book.
David Belka earned his PhD in elementary physical education from the University of Toledo in 1976. He is a member of the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance and actively contributes to the field of elementary physical education by presenting papers and poster board sessions, planning symposia, and reviewing articles.
