Linda Bauer is a syndicated food and travel columnist. Steve Bauer is a retired Army colonel. They are the coauthors of "Recipes from Historic Texas," They live in The Woodlands, Texas. From Library Journal:
Among the contributors to this unique "community cookbook" are George Bush (All-American Clam Chowder), Dan Quayle (Fruit Salad), Ted Kennedy (Cape Cod Clam Chowder), and Strom Thurmond (South Carolina Pecan Pie); part of the book's profits are earmarked to fight world hunger (through World Vision). Bauer has collected recipes from members of both Houses of Congress, as well as the President and Vice-President--and what a varied collection it is. Many of the recipes could be found in any fund-raising cookbook, but there are some interesting regional specialties scattered throughout. On the whole, these recipes are fun and sometimes unintentionally amusing to browse through.
