Part of the Strode Football Series, this book tells and shows the history of the LSU Tigers - the great teams of 1908 and 1958, the rivalries with Tulane and Ole Miss, the Notre Dame games, Tiger Stadium, the coaches, the bowl games, the star players, and more. Author Dan Hardesty has been an LSU fan since 1933. He covered the Tigers from the pressbox as a high school student working parttime for the Baton Rouge Morning Advocate, where he became sports editor in 1946. In 1949, he became sports editor of the Baton Rouge State-Times. At the time of writing the book, he had attended 360 LSU games.
