Teach your children truth in Literature with Perspectives of Truth in Literature. Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, "If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." In this short statement of our Lord there are three implications which bear mightly upon the study of literature. The first is that there is a standard of truth. The second is that men without the truth are in bondage. And the third is that truth must be learned. The selection of literature and the development of the exercises rest, then, upon our confession of Christ as the Truth, our confession of man as sinful, and our confession that the Christian's mind must be renewed by truth. "If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed." John 8:36
