There are stories of traveling to the beach in a Model T Ford before there was a bridge across the Waccamaw River or a paved beach road, and stories about the days of the magnificent antebellum rice plantations that lined the river. Also includes stories of striking for flounder or boat races or the first outdoor drama stage in 1915.
Those who already love the South Carolina coast will find stories to delight them and many that are dear and familiar. Those who do not know the area will want to remedy that oversight as soon as possible.
