By the 1990s, the film industry had drastically changed and Friedman didn\u2019t like what he saw. He decided to move on to other photographic challenges such as international endurance racing and classical ballet, for which his pictures have won numerous awards. From Library Journal:

From the official team photographer for the Shelby American organization comes this fine presentation of original photographs that chronicle the development, production, and racing of Caroll Shelby's great Cobra automobile. The Cobra redefined the sports car and dominated racing in the 1960s. Interestingly, it is as popular today as it was 30 years ago. This volume's somewhat limited text tells the story of the Cobra through firsthand accounts by Shelby, factory personnel, and racing crew members. Other books on the Shelby Cobra do not focus on the racing aspect of the car, nor did their authors have access to the firsthand accounts and spectacular photo opportunities allowed Friedman. Recommended for public libraries.
