Her column, "Recipe Makeovers" appears monthly in Shape magazine, a national fitness publication for women. She is the author of the popular first edition of Eating on the Run, and also writes for Consumer's Digest, First, Weight Watchers, Environmental Nutrition, and the Los Angeles Times syndicate.
Evelyn is a national spokesperson for the American Dietetic Association and appears frequently in the national media, helping consumers understand how to eat nutritiously. She conducts nutrition workshops nationwide for both national and local groups, helping busy people learn how to combine a hectic lifestyle with healthy eating. She has also been teaching college nutrition courses since 1984.
Evelyn earned a master's degree in nutrition science from California State University-Long Beach in 1983. In 1985, she received a national award as the Young Dietitian of the Year. She is also an accomplished runner who qualified for the Olympic marathon trials in 1984. Evelyn resides with her husband, Jeff, and daughter, Krystin, in Irvine, California.
