Stephen Mitchell is an assistant professor of sport pedagogy at Kent State University. He received his undergraduate and master's degrees from Loughborough University, England, where the tactical approach was first developed, and earned a PhD in teaching and curriculum at Syracuse University. He has employed a tactical approach throughout 15 years of teaching and coaching at the middle school, high school, and college levels. Dr. Mitchell is a member of AAHPERD and the Ohio Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (OAHPERD).
Judy Oslin is an associate professor of sport pedagogy at Kent State University. She received her undergraduate and master's degrees from Kent State and earned a PhD in sport pedagogy at the Ohio State University. She has 23 years of experience as a physical educator and has coached high school basketball and volleyball for 11 years. An avid slow-pitch softball player, Dr. Oslin has played in 13 national tournaments. She has used the tactical approach throughout the past six years with middle school, high school, and college students. Dr. Oslin is a member of AAHPERD, OAHPERD, and AERA.
