Devers. 1 of 500 copies signed by the author and Devers. The Germans called him "Tiger Jack". B.H. Liddell Hart called him "The Rommel of the American armored forces.". John Shirley Wood was one of this nation's greatest armor leaders. His division, the 4th Armored, was perhaps the finest fighting unit in the history of the United States. This biography examines the very dimensions of leadership. From his years at West Point, through his military career, and in retirement, John Shirley Wood served America. A very good copy with some light marking to the bottom of the spine and some soiling to the lower front cover. The text is very good and clean. The jacket is good with some light edgewear.
