Synopsis

Theodore Roosevelt National Park is a part of both the Northern Great Plains and the West, blending a rich natural beauty with diverse human history. The land affords individuals the opportunity to experience the badlands environment and to enjoy it as Roosevelt once did. The wealth of wildlife that first attracted people's attention still exists today.

Theodore Roosevelt National Park, located in western North Dakota, was established in 1947 as a memorial park, and redesignated in 1978.
