Exploring the Dracula myth with fellow students and their teacher, Dirk and Erin venture off on a field trip to a local tourist attraction in the Pennsylvania Mountains called Carfax Abbey. There supposedly resides the original coffin of the dreadful Count Dracula. Having read Bram Stoker s Dracula and been thoroughly informed of his writing style and vampire history by their teacher Vlad Lucard the class is interested as well as skeptical as to just what Carfax Abbey has to show them. Everyone knows Count Dracula is just a character of literature so they have no fear. However, they are told they must leave their cell phones at the school, as they interfere with the special effects at the attraction. Upon arrival at Carfax Abbey everyone is impressed with the physical appearance of the place. It is a decrepit deserted church that has been turned into what we have read and seen in movies as exactly the kind of sinister place Count Dracula would choose to live. After viewing the performance of Count Dracula and his two brides, Marishka and Aleera, the class is instantly impressed that the trip was well worth it. Erin, Dirk and their fellow students very quickly begin to experience strange events relating to the actual Coffin of Dracula. And in no time they find themselves engaged in a frightening situation with elements that they could never have ever imagined!
Dracula s Coffin is the most recent addition to the exciting and educational TRAVELERS series. Suitable for grade school or high school.
