Barbara Wyn Klunder is an eclectic artist gifted in many genres and media, from designing hand-knit sweaters (which were launched in New York with the help of Vogue magazine), hand-hooked rugs and fonts to illustration work for books, posters and logos for clients ranging from theaters to jazz festivals to the Rolling Stones. Her conceptual museum show, "27 Downsized Purses," was a collection of small purses made out of all kinds of materials from nature (birchbark, pine cones, wood), and including embroidery, knitting, rug hooking, hardware and graffiti. She is well known for her commitment to human rights and environmental causes, and her work has been exhibited throughout North America. Barbara teaches drawing and painting at the Art Gallery of Ontario, and she is a sought-after lecturer and juror for contemporary art exhibitions. She lives in Toronto and Vancouver.

Barbara W. Her work can be found in the collections of the Art Gallery of Ontario, the Royal Ontario Museum and at other institutions around Canada. She is well known for her commitment to human rights and environmental causes which led her to published Other Goose: Recycled Rhymes for Our Fragile Times with Groundwood. For the past twenty years she has spent most of her time on the Toronto Island which inspired her book The Animal's Day.
