The author's father left his parent's farm in Michigan to move to Sakatchewan on the Canadian prairies about 1906. He settled near the village of Brock and married the Sklapsky girl from the neighbouring farm. The eventual result was this 240 page family history. Family photos (b/w) assist text. Learn more about : North Battleford Trail, Settlers Effects, Netherhill, Tin-the-Can, Cochin Beach, Lizard Lake, Weed Inspector, Josephine Lasuta, Marjory Lenderbeck, Elva Strutt, and Rosetown. Cond : Paper wrapper is white. Lettering is orangey-red. Front cover graphic is a simple drawing (in red) of a drying cowhide. Corners soft, two cover creases, wear at lower spine hinge, spine o/w fine. Binding tight, minimal soiling. Several folded page corners. Page 20 has some underlining. Bookstore stamp and p/o name - verso front cover. Author has signed tile page. Sharlotte Preston nee Krepps also has signed and dedicated the title page. Very good reading copy (only). Quote (p. 44) : " This slough was the one George Krepps used for cutting the tall grasses, which gave winter forage for the cattle and horses. Fireweed and tall clover stalks grew in abundance.
