King has interviewed several Tafoya descendants carrying on her legacy, including recognized potters Toni Roller, Nancy and Nathan Youngblood, and LuAnn Tafoya.Seventy-five exemplary examples of Tafoya s work are presented in full color many of the pots documented for the first time. King has dated the pieces, demonstrating the progression of Tafoya s artistry. Companion to an exhibition at the Carnegie Museum featuring the John Krena collection of Margaret Tafoya pottery to open in the Fall of 2008, Born of Fire will be the standard for those interested in Tafoya s life and work.
