About the Author

For over four decades, David Down has been fascinated by the history buried for centuries, waiting to be discovered. As a field archaeologist who excavates regularly in Israel, working with the Israel Antiquities Authority, he has been involved in excavations at different sites and is editor/publisher of the journal Diggings and the magazine Archaeological Diggings. He leads annual tour groups to the Middle East, and is known for his enthusiasm and depth of knowledge for the history and relevance of these important archaeological sites.
