The Southern Patriot was a newspaper that began publication in Charleston, South Carolina in 1815 and was published through 1848. This volume will be extremely useful genealogical reference as the obituarie and marriage notices of this newspaper are given in great detail, often including dates of birth, parents and family names, as well as places of residence.
