Synopsis

Ethics both in theory and practice. Phrased in non-technical language, Right and Reason is a thoroughly competent book in the philosophy of Ethics, which gives the science of morality from the Aristotelian-Thomistic, common-sense school of thought--which is none other than the Perennial Philosophy of the Ages, the philosophy outside of which one's positions quickly become absurd and all reasoning ends up in dead-ends. About the Author

The Rev. Father Austin Fagothey, S.J., was a Jesuit priest and author of the twentieth century. He also served as Professor of Philosophy at the University of Santa Clara, California. His comprehensive Right and Reason: Ethics in Theory and Practice has been called the clearest and easiest-to-read text on the subject of Ethics ever published. While the first edition was copyrighted in 1953, the second was published in 1959 by The C. V. Mosby Company, St. Louis, with the Nihil Obstat, Imprimatur, and Imprimi Potest. Father Fagothey's work was also printed by TAN in 2000.
