Gr 6-12--Each of these books begins with the case study of a real person who suffered from the disease in question. The authors then discuss the causes, effects, diagnoses, treatments, cures, and ongoing research as is applicable to the respective diseases. Delineated sections present basic well-organized material in a style that is easy to read and understand. Highlighted words, although explained in the text, also appear in the glossary. Full-color illustrations include photographs and well-labeled diagrams. These titles have more easier-to-find facts than the ``The Facts About'' series (Crestwood). While the ``Venture'' series (Watts) and the ``Diseases and People'' series (Enslow) are written on a higher reading level, these new titles have almost as much information and the diagrams are better.
