Synopsis
Adventure abounds as King Gesar fearlessly challenges the dark forces, inner and outer, that bring war and hardship and obscure the path to enlightenment. Nine different Gesar tales bring to life Gesar's heroic task is to overcome the dark forces that bring war and hardship. This means conquering emotionality and confusion and abandoning mean-spiritedness. Each character in the epic, from the malicious Lord Trotun to the three celestial sisters that guide Gesar in his quest, symbolizes a psychological and spiritual force. Gesar harnesses and unifies these forces, just as he unifies his kingdom. His ultimate victory promises that peace and harmony will prevail in the world.
