Buck Peterson is universally hailed as a gourmet chef and all-round sportsman of almost mythical proportions in the square mile of woods surrounding his hunting and fishing lodge in northenmost Minnesota and at Buck's Outdoor World. Buck has been keeping his own endangered species count and is understandably concerned that his totals don't jibe with federal and state numbers. He's called the Department of Interior and the Fish and Wildlife Service several times without success. Field observers from his Advanced Plucking Institute do confirm, however, that there are no more spotted owls in his woods.
