LeFan tells his story of how God taught him patience through his personal trials and struggles. Diagnosed with severe paralytic polio with full respiratory involvement at the age of eight, he is now a "full-time polio quad." He explains how he came to accept his physical condition, being almost totally paralyzed. And he explains his determination to achieve despite obvious hindrances. When arms and hands failed to function, LeFan called upon what would work-his left foot. Patience, My Foot! was literally written with the toes of his left foot. But the book is more than a story about one man's personal struggle against a handicap. It is an exploration of Everyman's encounter with the vicissitudes of life, and how they can be used to build strength, endurance, and meaning for living.
