The historical highlights and explanation of its teachings are by W. Cleon Skousen, who taught the Book of Mormon at Brigham Young University for many years.

W. Cleon Skousen was born in Raymond, Alberta, Canada, in 1913, but moved to California with his family when he was ten. He began a careful study of the scriptures at the age of 17 when he was called on a mission to England, and had a well-known scriptural scholar, Dr. John A. Widtsoe, as his first mentor. He subsequently graduated from George Washington University with a juris doctorate degree, and after 16 years with the FBI, became a professor at Brigham Young University in the Department of Religion. He has written a dozen books on scriptural subjects and considerably more on various secular themes. Dr. Skousen has conducted many tours to the Holy Land and has lectured throughout the United States and in 45 different countries. He and his wife, Jewel Pitcher, have eight children, 50 grandchildren and make their home in Salt Lake City.
Wendell Noble, a distinguished narrator, lecturer, actor, musician and teacher, was born in Mesa, Arizona. He began his radio career at station KOY in Phoenix. For many years, he and his family lived in Southern California where Wendell enjoyed a successful career as a radio and television personality. His own program, The Wendell Noble Show, aired over KABC in Los Angeles. Perhaps Wendell is best remembered by the people of Southern California for his masterful narration of the Crucifixion and Resurrection at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, California. He was in great demand as a speaker and narrator. In 1942 Wendell married Gwenavere Gibson and they have 6 children. He remained a devoted father and husband until his passing in February, 1988. His wife now resides in Lindon, Utah.
