Review:

. . . a terrific book. Over 600 quotes from more than 300 people cover just about every perspective on love. . . .

Funny, rueful, practical, wise and compassionate, this collection is recommended as a gift to anyone who might be in a love relationship. . . . One charming feature of the book is the great range of attitudes displayed. One can disagree totally with one and on the same page find one that rings true and provides an insight. Lots of fun, and more educational than many a tome. -- New Age Retailer

A compendium of quotations rather than a proper dictionary, this slim volume contains more than 600 quotations, all on the subject of love. The quotations are drawn from a pool of sources that span time and type and included appropriate comments from a number of diverse experts on the affairs of the heart, including Socrates, Shakespeare, Joe Lewis, Kahlil Gibran, and Zsa Zsa Gabor.

The quotations are groupedd into 191 alphabetically arranged subject catetgories that range from "Action and Love" to "Wounds and Love." Included are such tantalizing headings such as "Alchemy and Love," "Mushrooms and Love," and "Revolution and Love."

Witty, profound, and sometimes just plain fun, this book is a delightful additon to the growing ranks of subject-specific quotation books. It will be welcome by anyone -- reader, writer, or librarian -- who has ever searcehd for "just the right quote" on the subjec of love. -- American Reference Book Annual, 1991, Vol 22. Libraries Unlimited Inc.

This refrence book was written by more than 300 people. Every Perspective of love is addressed in alphabetical order. The letter "A" has fourteen different entries fron Action and Love to Aversion and Love. The "B" entries number nine from Barriers to Love to Brotherly Love. This rich reference book is a must for all of us who want ot express and understand love. Helpful, funny, bittrsweet comments and insights are collected from such sources as Anais Nin, Merle Shain, Oscar Wilde, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Cicero, Aristotle and Benjamin Disraeli. In all, about 600 lover form various times and places unite to guide the reader on an odyssey of understanding. The book is enjoyable reading, but can be also be invaluable to those who write lyric, poetry, or an occassional love letter. It would make a suitable gift to mark ether the end or the beginning of a love affair. -- Body, Mind and Spirit April '94
