Condition: acceptable. The item is very worn but is perfectly usable. Signs of wear can include aesthetic issues such as scratches, dents, worn and creased covers, folded page corners and minor liquid stains. All pages and the cover are intact, but the dust cover may be missing. Pages may include moderate to heavy amount of notes and highlighting, but the text is not obscured or unreadable. Hardcover. Condition: VG+. Dust Jacket Condition: Fair. B/W Photographs (illustrator). 2'nd Printing. At the time of writing the author was Educational Diagnostician at Maryland School for the Deaf. From her parent and student population she conducted a TWO part survey (1974 and 1978) of attitudes and emotions to living and learning for deaf and hearing-impaired CHILDREN. These 91 pages (+ 2 page appendix) are an anecdotal assemblage of comments on such topics as `Life Goals', `Frustrations', `Acceptance' and `Need for Education' inter alia. These comments act as inspirational SUPPORT for parents and children and relatives and teachers in similar situations. Lots of b/w and colour photos. Cond : Boards are green with gold lettering on face and spine. End-papers are lime green. D.J. is white with 4 photos - three colour and one b/w - of deaf students. VOLUME has p/o name on ep, ELSE clean tight and crisp. D.J. is rubbed . ALSO tattered along top and bottom edges. Two major tears near spine top and tail. No marks, stains nor folds - internal. Good user's copy. Quote (p. 13) : " ` For a long time, I was preoccupied with the cause of Charlie's deafness. I was convinced that I didn't want any more children.
