In 1958, just after I had turned eleven, I was almost killed when I ran into the street and was hit by a car. I found myself watching the scene from above, then was taken to a beautiful light-filled place where I was lovingly told to go back to help my family. At seventeen, while swimming alone in the ocean, I was pulled out to sea in a rip-tide. Weary of fighting the waves and the current, I closed my eyes to rest and was propelled through a rushing darkness into a world of light, color and music; compassion, knowledge and memory.Although I returned to life, this second "time" in the light had a tremendous impact on me. I was never again able to see or think in terms of solid objects or linear time. I have called this book The Wave of Light, but there is really no conceivable name for what I encountered. In these pages, I share the spirit of my encounters. They continue to teach me that we are not separate beings, but one consciousness, dancing together, and that whatever happens to one of us flows through us all. From the Back Cover:
Roxanne Sumners was nearly killed in an auto accident as a child and almost drowned at 17. In both cases, she encountered a beautiful, timeless peace that altered her sense of reality and continues to transform her life. In these pages, Roxanne weaves a story from her own life and near-death experiences and insights gained in her study of quantum physics. Settle in with this little book, meet a young woman named Leora, and journey with her into The Wave of Light.
