This first volume of three covers the interiors of the principal German day fighters and rocket interceptors of the period 1935-1945. Aircraft instrumentation, controls, flying suits, engines, weapons, fuel, oil and coolant systems are also covered. Everything normall seen by the pilot strapped into his seat is shown in this volume. In addition each aircraft type is represented by at least one general external view of the complete aircraft. This volume contains 495 photographs, 212 color photographs and 225 color illustrations.

Merrick, of Greenwith, South Australia, has been actively involved in researching German aircraft for over 30 years, and is the author of numerous books dedicated to this topic such as Luftwaffe Colors and The Official Monogram Painting Guide to German Aircraft. He has been especially interested in the internal and external appearance and substance of various German aircraft. He is an acknowledged expert on aircraft of the Luftwaffe [German Air Force]and has served as a consultant to various institutions such as the Australian War Memorial Museum.
