About the Author:

Dr. Sapp is from Asheville, North Carolina, and holds A.B., M.Div., and Ph.D. degrees form Duke University. He is professor and chair of religious studies at the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida. He is also an ordained Presbyterian minister. Over the years he has developed an expertise in problems and possibilities of aging. He lectures nationally and internationally on a variety of aging and bioethical issues. He is a member of several related organizations including the American Society of Aging where he was the recipient of the 2002 ASA Award, the organization's highest honor for contributions to the field of gerontology. He has authored three other books, "Full of Years", "Lights On A Gray Area". and "Sexuality, the Bible, and Science", as well as numerous articles and book chapters, he is former editor of the "Journal of Religious Gerontology".
