Mitzel's first novel is a darkly comic tale set in Hell. The time is the 1980s, and it seems Hell is up for sale. Or is it? There is only one man who has the ambition, the gumption, the determination--and the deep pockets--to buy Hell and make it the most spectacular real estate development adventure in history. But will he be able to do it? There are existing forces in Hell who don't want things to change, and they will do their mightiest to keep things just as they are; after all, they've have a good gig for millenia. But, as they learn, they are up against Mr. Bunny LaRue and his brilliant assitant, Miss Helen Shumway, property developers extraordinaire, in a story full of intrigue, lots of loose money, lies, deceit and an odd menagerie of very strange individuals, among the prominent denizens of the Underworld. Will Hell finally get the major make-over it so richly deserves? If Dante had joined the Marx Brothers in a movie directed by Billy Wilder, in a production from Hal Roach, it just might have the feel of INFERNO HEIGHTS.
