Kosrof Chantikian is the author of two books of poems, Prophecies & Transformations, & Imaginations & Self-Discoveries. He is general editor of the KOSMOS Modern Poets in Translation Series.

About the Author:

Kosrof Chantikian is the author of Prophecies & Transformations, and Imaginations & Self-Discoveries, and editor of Octavio Paz: Homageto the Poet, and The Other Shore: 100 Poems by Rafael Alberti.

He was Managing Editor of KOSMOS: A Journal of Poetry, from 1975 to 1983,and Series Editor of the KOSMOS Modern Poets in Translation Series from1975 to 1987.

His essay on Octavio Paz entitled "The Poetry andThought of Octavio Paz: An Introduction" appeared in Octavio Paz: Homage to the Poet, and was reprinted in Octavio Paz edited by Harold Bloom.

His poems have appeared in Amerus, Ararat, Blue Unicorn, GinoskoLiteraryJournal, Green House, Grey Sparrow Journal, KOSMOS: A Journal of Poetry, Leveler Poetry, Marin Poetry Center Anthology, Snow Jewel,VerseWisconsin, and other journals.

He has received grants fromthe National Endowment for the Arts, the California Arts Council(Artists in Communities Program), and the San Francisco Foundation, andwas poet-in-residence at the San Francisco Public Library for theperiods November 1979 - April 1980, October 1980 -July 1981, and October 1982 -September 1983.

He was educated at New York University and received Master's degrees in both Philosophy and Mathematics.
