Safa Ali Uwaiysi Michael Newman has been a student and researcher in the study if Uwaiysi Sudism for many years. He is also a dedicated practitioner of Sufism under the guidance and supervision of his teachers, Shah Nazar Seyed Dr. Ali Kianfar and Seyedeh Dr. Nahid Angha, who were disciples of Moulana Shah Maghsoud. He has given lectures on Sufism throughout the United States and currently teaches classes on Sufism at the Institute for Sufi Studes in Northern California. Mr. Newman has published articles appearing in Sufism: An Inquiry and leads regular gatherings of Sufis in the San Franciso Bay Area.
