Trade paperback title, 201 pages. Beautiful full-color illustrations throughout. Charles Comfort (1900-1994) was one of the foremost Canadian painters of the last century. In 1943, he was sent to Europe in the Canadian Army's fight against the Germans on the Italian peninsula, as an artist to visualize the war.

The new cover is "Major Comfort - Self Portrait" in colour. The Foreword is re-written by the same Commanding Officer -- retired Prof. Emeritus (History) from Queens University.
