At a very young age, Lola Ades was inspired to become an artist. She enthusiastically accepted any art job she could get, such as painting tiny pins made of china and creating giant 36-foot-long murals. By the age of 17, her talents and determination had won her a national art prize for sculpting.
Ades is comfortable working in a variety of media--pen and ink, watercolor, tempera, textile, and oil. Her preference is oil painting, and her favorite subjects are flowers, horses, and landscapes. She began authoring Walter foster books after obtaining a degree in art during her retirement. Ades continues to paint from her home in southern California.
