This is my story of what it was like as a mother sending a son to war. It is my sincere hope that in sharing my story and private thoughts, other mothers faced with sending a son or daughter to war, will accept they are in for some tough days and nights ahead of them. The war will not only change their son but will change them as well. We cannot go back to who we once were. Instead, we must move ahead, with a new found strength and wisdom, knowing that if we can survive the heartache of sending a son or daughter to war, we can survive almost anything. Stay Proud.

I am a single parent with four awesome children; a son has served two deployments to Iraq, two beautiful daughters and a son in elementary school. During the day I am an 8th grade science teacher and coach. At night I am a busy mom trying to get my children to little league games, spiritline practice and the mall. Being the mother of a brave Marine has been a test of my inner strength. Lots of worry, sleepless nights, and worrisome days yet I am proud of my son's choice to become a Marine. His courage to face terrorist thugs threatening the safety of humanity has given me the strength to face my own worries and fears. This book was written to help new Marine Corps parents who will be facing some of the same challenges in the near future and to help give some awareness to others what military families at home face everyday.Review:
