Is it a mystery? Is it a cookbook? It's both! Geraldine Duncann has cooked up a tasty who-done-it with over thirty excellent recipes. In this, her first novel, veteran cookbook author Geraldine Duncann has combined her love of good food, fine wines and interesting people to produce a first class adventure in the culinary mystery genre. You will meet widowed Josephine St. John, her two sons and vintner, Ben Penella, her father-in-law, a cantankerous curmudgeon, caught in a political time warp. The plot begins to ferment when Jo's boyfriend, Detective Allen Younger brings her oldest son, Lee in for questioning after the body of a pregnant young woman is found at the Penella winery in a bin of old growth Zinfandel grapes. And, the book contains a bonus: travel tips and historical tidbits about the Sonoma wine country as well as recipes for the delectable dishes mentioned.

About the Author:

Food and travel writer Geraldine Duncann is the author of numerous cookbooks, including the best-selling, “Some Like it Hotter” and “The English Country Kitchen.” She has also published a large number of travel articles. Her peregrinations have taken her to many out-of-the-way places in her ongoing efforts to seek out interesting recipes and the people who produce them. She was educated at the California College of Arts and Crafts in Oakland, California where she studied design, color, composition and photography. She studied privately with such noted artists as Jade Fon, Jonathon Bachelor, Richard Diebenkorn and Antonio Prieta. After leaving Arts and Crafts she became increasingly interested in writing, history, folk traditions and the culinary arts, all of which led to her career as a food and travel writer. Geraldine is a fifth generation Californian, her great-great-grandparents having arrived in the golden state shortly after the gold rush. She lives in the heart of the Sonoma County wine country, surrounded by some of the world’s most prestigious Zinfandel vineyards.
