Ironically, the latter often involves multiple federal agenciesNational Park Service, Bureau of Land Management, and Forest Service. Laws exist to protect the parks but political pressures and naivete about the use of those laws have been impediments to enlightened management policies. Here 18 environmental and legal scholars review those laws and how they can be used; many of them advocate a more independent Park Service.
