The Stars of Texas publication is a catalogue to accompany the Stars of Texas exhibit of 159 paperweights from the Paperweight Collectors Association of Texas, Inc. (PCA TX). The paperweights selected for the exhibit were among the finest in Texas collections, and included only those having the classic paperweight format, and particularly well executed, or rare, with unusual provenance or historical significance. The exhibit will be shown at the May 14-17, 2003 convention of the Paperweight Collectors Association. Inc in San Antonio, TX, and again from June 9 - November 28, 2003 at the Forsyth Center Galleries at Texas A&M University. The publication was designed for both the novice and expert collector, and includes text describing the appeal of paperweights, their history, and contemporary revival, as well as an epilogue of the significance of the exhibit and catalogue. A history of the PCA TX is also included. The publication includes descriptions and outstanding, full size color pictures of all paperweights to document the exhibit. The publication was prepared jointly by Art Elder (PCA TX) and Tim Novak (Forsyth Center Galleries) and published by Paperweight Press. Full color.
